Pretty Lights is one of my favorite music artists. His pictures he posts, some his and some of other photographers, heavily showcase the kinds of photos I want to learn to take.

Before The Storm
This picture was taken right as a storm was rolling towards my house. A car was coming up the street, so I hastily put on a timer, and I changed the shutter speed along with the fstop. This allowed the car's headlights to look like a beam of light across the photo. The darkness of the sky, the lonesome big tree, and the way the lights hit the grass all make this photo balanced. Where there is light at the bottom, there is darkness at the top; this brings a light versus dark atmosphere to the photo.

The first time I saw this picture I was in astonishment of how it turned out. Great work!
ReplyDeleteI like the color of the sky in this shot, and I think it's really cool that you decided to take advantage of the car driving by instead of waiting to take the photo after it had passed.
